Hey everybody.
I have been thinking about possible names and themes for our proposed WW1 Aircraft squadron. The other day my daughter suggested that i decorate my airplane in my own colors. This got me to thinking, Why not? we are going to start our own squadron why not develope our own theme?. Since we are in anderson and our club name starts with Anderson Why not the "Anderson Dawn Patrol"? We can use the anderson indian head on the side of the fuse. Then come up with our personal Insignia to be placed forward of the squadron insignia. AND our own Personal Color scheme. The Rudder and Vertical Stabilizer can be painted the Squadron colors. I was thinking Red Black and Green after the anderson indians colors. let me know what you all think. and PLEASE !! come up with some suggestions. this will be OUR squadron so we will all need to agree. Lets have some fun with it.

Yep I have decals being made, I was just looking in the Horizon catalog and seen the Sop Camel for 299.00 that's not bad. Might just be a winter project.

J.C. I just looked at that airplane and i can attest it flies great (same one i have) it took me about a week to put it together. Balsa U.S.A. has a couple of nice 1/6 scale war birds as well. they run about $150.00 check them out.

I have to admit it does look pretty cool in the air. So what do you think is the better deal?

the camel will be a quicker build and it is DEFINITELY Tough! the cost will be less for the Balsa USA model. you can go electric with either one. so it depends on what ya like the niueport 17 runs around $170.00 and the Pup runs around $149.00 they will take about 2 meters of covering. I like the pup as well. I think i might end up with one sooner or later. so what kind of flying are you going to do with it? if your going to rough house with it i would suggest the H 9 Camel. but i think the B.U.S.A. kit will be cheaper. I only Paid $200.00 for the 1/4 scale N-11 the 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup is only about $10.00 more they take about 8 meters to cover. Solartex is about $9.00 a meter. you have all the electronics and propulsion already.

J.C. I almost forgot about the Fokker DR1 Triplanes @ Nitroplanes.com they are pretty reasonable price wise and are about the same size as the camel. that is if you like the triplane
